Caitlan Senior Portrait Photos at Brunner Family Farm Preserve and Buffalo Park

It’s always interesting to me how senior portrait sessions work out.

I often don’t know the senior before meeting at the session, and thus I don’t usually come with a plan of action. it’s more getting a feel for the senior once I meet them, and coming up with a plan as we go along with the shoot.

Caitlan’s shoot was balanced between the Brunner Family Farm Preserve just off Hwy 31 between Algonquin and West Dundee, and Buffalo Park, set on the Fox River in Algonquin. The setting at Brunner is basically a farm, which includes a red barn, an industrial building, and lots of grass and nature.

At Buffalo Park, it’s all about the scenic nature of a park setting next to the Fox River. And with the weather warm that day, it meant Caitlan was going to be in the river.

As you can see through the pictures below, we managed to get some really iconic nature shots. This might have been one of my favorite sessions of the fall, and Caitlan was a lot of fun to photograph.

We did what I consider a normal senior portrait session, which is 2 hours long and often consists of more than one location and a couple different outfits.
